INVITATION TO BID

The City of Stockport is accepting written bids from qualified contractors for the 2026 Joint and Crack Repair Project.

Written bids will be accepted until 5:00 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2026.

Bids will be publicly opened during the regular meeting of the Stockport City Council on:

Late bids will not be considered.

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

The project consists of furnishing all labor, supervision, equipment, materials, traffic control, cleanup, disposal of waste materials, and all incidental items necessary to complete hot-applied joint and crack repair on City streets.

These quantities are estimates only.

The City reserves the right to increase or decrease quantities as necessary.

Payment shall be based upon the actual accepted linear feet completed.

SCOPE OF WORK

The contractor shall furnish:

  • Labor

  • Equipment

  • Hot-applied rubberized crack sealant

  • Traffic control

  • Surface preparation

  • Crack cleaning

  • Cleanup

  • Any incidental materials necessary to complete the project.

All work shall comply with the current:

Iowa Department of Transportation Standard Specifications for Highway and Bridge Construction

and accepted pavement maintenance practices.

Contractors may submit bids using their standard proposal form provided it contains the following:

The proposal shall clearly identify:

  • Unit Price Per Linear Foot

  • Total Estimated Price based on 22,154 LF

INSURANCE

Prior to beginning work, the successful contractor shall provide proof of:

  • General Liability Insurance

  • Workers' Compensation Insurance (if applicable)

The contractor shall comply with all federal, state and local safety regulations.

COMPLETION

Work shall be completed on or before:

October 1, 2026

unless extended by written approval of the City Council.

PAYMENT

Payment shall be made after:

  • Completion of the work;

  • Inspection by the City;

  • Acceptance by the City Council;

  • Submission of an invoice.

AWARD OF CONTRACT

The City Council reserves the right to:

  • Reject any or all bids;

  • Waive informalities or irregularities;

  • Request clarification of any proposal;

  • Verify contractor qualifications and references;

  • Award the contract determined to be in the best interest of the City.

The contract will not necessarily be awarded to the lowest bidder.
